2023 Honda Odyssey Review

The Honda Odyssey 2023 is a pragmatic and roomy minivan that is not difficult to drive, is incredible when moving individuals or freight, and is a lot simpler to get in and out of than numerous taller ride SUVs. In any event, stacking the back freight region is more straightforward as the Odyssey’s lower tallness implies less burden is required.

2023 Honda Odyssey

Fresh from the exterior redesign for the 2021 model year, we don’t see any major changes to the Odyssey 2023. That’s okay, as this Honda is a regular award winner, having picked up the Best Minivan and Best Family Car titles, among the awards. other.

A 280-torque 3.5-liter V6 motor and a 10-speed programmed transmission send capacity to the front wheels. Dissimilar to opponents, for example, the Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna, the Odyssey isn’t presented with discretionary all-wheel drive. The Pacifica can likewise be possessed as a module cross breed (PHEV) with a restricted electric driving reach.

While it doesn’t have all the equipment found on certain contenders, the Odyssey gets high recognition for its solid security record and mobility. All things considered, the most ideal way to keep away from a mishap can include having a vehicle with the fast reflexes expected to explore around a possible impact.

Honda has created a spacious and well-equipped cabin for the Odyssey, especially on high-end models, such as the Touring and Elite trims, which have a decidedly premium look and feel.

Honda Odyssey 2023 News

ThecHondaVac is perhaps the most brilliant decision you can get in a Honda Odyssey minivan. It’s a scaled-down ShopVac intended to get dry soil easily, and that eight-foot hose implies it can reach anyplace in the Odyssey’s inside. It’s additionally the favored decision, in light of the fact that whether or not you’re moving merchandise or kids, soil and spills are inescapable in the minivan.

Sadly, the justification for why you’re now seeing 2022 Odysseys in showrooms is a similar explanation the HondaVac vanished from the choices list: there aren’t enough of these installed vacuum cleaners to work with. Provider issues with the HondaVac constrained Honda to deliver the 2022 model presently, despite the fact that we’re not so much as a month into 2021.

Honda declared that the 2022 Odyssey was hitting its showrooms on January 12, which created some turmoil. The Odyssey, presently in its fifth era, was simply revived in 2021 and has no significant changes for 2022.

In any case, the helpful HondaVac has likewise been unobtrusively eliminated from the online configurator with the 2022 model year. The HondaVac is the decision of the two trims. Most elevated fifth-era Odyssey: Touring and Elite. Honda has traded the Odyssey online configurator for the 2022 model also, and the HondaVac isn’t accessible as a possibility for one or the other trim.

Drive asked a Honda representative if the HondaVac would return to the lineup in the future, but has not received a response at the time of this writing. Supplier issues are relatively common these days, either from coronavirus-related shutdowns or production slowdowns, or from material availability as consumer habits have changed during the pandemic.

2023 Honda Odyssey Redesign

After a more exhaustive facelift for the 2021 model year, the Odyssey heads to the 2022 model year with just two changes: another shading called Radiant Red Metallic II joins the range and the coordinated vacuum cleaner choice has been suspended.

To the extent, we know the new 2021 and 2022 Honda Odysseys furnish our San Antonio drivers with a three-line van to keep every one of your travelers agreeable. 2023Honda Odyssey Hybrid

Odyssey makes a lot of sense for families. We’ve already praised the thoughtful feature content in the 2018 car’s First Test and the face-lifted 2021 model test; capabilities such as the Cabin Watch rear seat monitor and the Cabin Talk intercom system will be highly appreciated by drivers transporting several children. If you’ve ever been in a crash, you’ll be grateful for the Odyssey’s excellent safety score.

As you’d expect for a minivan, the Odyssey offers plenty of interior space. Spacious and smart interior packaging are some of the reasons why it continues to be a strong rival to the Toyota Sienna. This is a strong player too. The ride quality is stable and allows for very agile handling. The standard V-6 offers plenty of grunt, and the 10-speed automatic is quick and smooth between gears.

The pre-refresh Odyssey misses the two-way comparison with the Chrysler Pacifica, with the American minivan’s superior ride, smart Stow ‘n Go seats, and impressive rear-seat entertainment system giving it a slight edge. The Honda seats offer front-rear and side-to-side adjustments, but removing them is a pain because they are so heavy.

But since Honda made smart changes to the Odyssey as part of the 2021 facelift, updates like new standard safety gear and standard second-row seats that fold almost flat make this minivan a better contender since we last compared it to the Pacifica. Competing in recent four-car minivan comparisons, the Odyssey’s excellent powertrain and easy third-row access won praise, but its outdated infotainment system and tricky third-row folding kept it out of first place.

Each Odyssey is powered by the same 3.5-liter Honda V-6 that makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the Sienna and Pacifica, there are no hybrid options available and neither is AWD; all Odysseys transmit power through the front wheels with the help of a 10-speed automatic transmission.

When we tested an Odyssey for our 2018 Car of the Year competition, it hit 60 mph in 6.6 seconds. The EPA fuel economy figure reads 19/28 mpg city/highway.

2023 Honda Odyssey AWD

That said, Honda does not offer a hybrid variant or Honda Odyssey All Wheel Drive to compete with Chrysler and Toyota. However, this has not been fixed for 2023, maybe there will be more changes.

2023 Honda Odyssey Specs

  • MPG: 19 city / 28 highway
  • Dimensions: 205″ L x 79″ W x 68-70″ H
  • Towing capacity: 3,500 lbs
  • Horsepower: 280 hp
  • Curb weight: 4,398 to 4,603 lbs

2023 Honda Odyssey Interior

Will the 2022 Odyssey have seating for seven or eight people? It depends on the trim. The entry-level LX accommodates seven passengers. The rest of the range will take eight. There’s plenty of head and leg room, even in the third row. All chairs are comfortable. And there are 15 cup holders.

The cabin is also quite versatile, with removable/detachable/foldable seats — although the 2nd row seats are a bit of a pain trying to get them off. Cargo space stretches from 32.8 to 158 cubic feet.

Keeping an eye on the passengers is quite easy with the concave mirrors fitted as standard. The CabinWatch camera is present on the penultimate Touring trim, which is also a model that has an in-car communication system.

Honda Odyssey 2023 Exterior

Apart from the new metallic red coloration, there are no visual changes to the 2022 Odyssey. It’s still a minivan — with sliding doors on both sides, LED headlights/daylights/taillights, plus 18-inch alloy wheels on the three lower trims, or 19-inch alloy wheels on Touring and Elite models.

Honda Odyssey 2023 Configurations

Calm, quiet, easy. Whatever challenges in life require a minivan, driving the Odyssey 2022 is not one of them.

The engine is quite muscular, while the 10-speed automatic transmission has no trouble choosing the right gear at the right time, acting as if its job is the simplest thing in the world. Notice there is no gear lever. A set of buttons on the center console control the transmission and parking brake. This frees up space that you can use for storage.

We found the 18-inch wheel/tire combination more comfortable than the 19-inch alternative in the higher trims.

Favorite Features

    • SECOND LINE CHAIRMAGIC SLIDE
Standardat EX level. They not only move forward, bringing the child in the second row closer to the front passenger and allowing easy access to the third row. They can also move backwards for optimal legroom. And from side to side, allows users to change the configuration.
    • INTELLIGENT ENTRY WITH AUTOMATIC WALK-AWAY LOCK
Chances are that many minivan drivers have their hands full of children and/or their backpacks and perhaps something like clothes covered in mud. So it’s great to know that the Odyssey supports them by unlocking when approaching or locking itself when the family heads into the room.

Standard features

Even though the LX is the lowest trim and lacks some of the most desirable items, it’s still an affordable and high-quality new Honda minivan. And it has a decent amount of standard equipment, such as multiple driver assistance features, power-adjustable front seats (8 directions for driver, 4 directions for passengers), and active noise cancellation.

Only the infotainment system often reminds shoppers that they should be buying the EX trim, with its relatively small screen (five inches, measured diagonally), its lack of smartphone integration, and only two USB ports. Even so, the audio system has six speakers.

Factory Option

Honda’sdoesn’t offer much extra (although there’s gear to carry bikes, kayaks, or surfboards, plus a tent), so buyers will need to explore higher trim levels. Which can be annoying when hands-free tailgate operation is at the top of the wish list, but isn’t available until the top trim.

We recommend at least the EX model for more complete safety features and a better infotainment system. Beyond that, it’s a matter of budget and preference.

Among the various items and gadgets are heated/ventilated front seats, in-cab communication system, rear seat monitoring, rear seat entertainment system, leather seating surfaces, more USB ports, Wi-Fi, wireless charging, 19-inch alloy wheels, sensors front/rear parking, and 12 volt outlet in cargo area.

2023 Honda Odyssey Engine

A 3.5-liter V6 gives the 2022 Odyssey an acceptable 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It is connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the drive is directed only to the front wheels. Anyone looking for an all-wheel-drive minivan should check out the Toyota Sienna or Chrysler Pacifica.

It’s okay to use regular 87 octane gasoline. The Honda Odyssey has several ways to save fuel, such as cylinder deactivation (runs with only three cylinders when conditions permit) and an engine stop/restart function. The towing capacity is 3,500 pounds.

  • 3.5 liter V6
  • 280 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm
  • Torque 262 lb-ft @ 4,700 rpm
  • EPA city/highway fuel economy: 19/28 mpg

2023 Honda Odyssey Release Date

Honda Odyssey 2023 Release Date There is no official release date yet but we expect it to arrive in early January 2022. Like its predecessor the 2022 Honda Odyssey which starts arriving at dealerships on 12 January 2021 in a bright Radiant Red Metallic II color.

Honda Odyssey 2023 For Sale

We expect the Honda Odyssey 2023 minivan to have a starting price of around $32,500.

2023 Honda Odyssey Price

We expect the Honda Odyssey 2023 to start at around $32,500, plus destination fees.

It was competitive with the likes of Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, and Kia Carnival. We think many Odyssey buyers would prefer to venture at least one trim level up, to the EX model.

That’s because the EX brings popular features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, power-operated sliding side doors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-traffic alerts. The Honda Odyssey EX 2023 should be priced at around $36,000.

At the top of the range, the Odyssey Elite comes with leather upholstery, rear-seat entertainment system, in-cab intercom system, wireless device charging, and a hands-free power liftgate. Look for the Odyssey Elite 2023 for around $48,000.
