2019 Honda Odyssey Elite Features Honda’s evergreen odyssey has legions of fans who value its reliability and usefulness. The Odyssey Elite 2019 can power everything and power the efficient powertrain thanks to its leather-clad interior, which drives everything and. Elite Trim, as the name suggests, is Honda’s top Odyssey minivan, which heats on such subtleties as perforated leather and charges chilled front seats, 11-speaker audio plus navigation and even a built-in vacuum cleaner. Touring and elite models also get a 10-speed automatic transmission over the nine-tier revs at lower trimming, along with an automatic stop/Start (thank God, that’s adjustable via a Stad button).
The minivan remains the best family car in the world, and I love things – they are versatile, comfortable, efficient and virtually invisible to the police. Honda has been building one of America’s most popular minivans for decades, and the 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite Features packages are pretty much all the company has learned in an angular, vague funky looking box.
The Odyssey shares a platform with the Honda Pilot and Ridgeline, so it’s not surprising that the three share some styling cues from front to back. Grills, headlights and LED running light forms and placement are very similar on the three, giving the Odyssey a sharper overall picture. All models get active grid stores to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. Headlight drivers and fog lamps are available as part of the touring series.

Honda almost hid the sliding track and put it directly into the black trim area under the rear windows. That switch, new in 2018, worked wonders on the profile of the Odyssey, smoothing the vehicle’s lines altogether. At the back, the chrome theme of the odyssey continues from the grid, with all models running LED tail lights.
Inside, space is plentiful, with enough room for full-fledged adults in all three rows. The cockpit is dominated by a center console so big it fits large pockets (look at you, nappy bag) and more than generously sized and storage bowls. The interior of the 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite Features is set up to provide space and use without feeling too special. With the exception of the cavern center console, storage is provided in clever and thoughtful places that do not interfere with the general cozy feel of the cabin. Honda placed more soft-touch materials all around, giving the Odyssey interior a premium feel.
Seating can be set up in multiple configurations thanks to Magic Slide in the Odyssey. Middle-row seats can be moved closer or farther apart to make easier or separate use of access to the back seats. By removing the 70-pound seats, the Odyssey is the smallest classroom small car with up to 144.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front row. The Odyssey offers a healthy 32 2.8 cubic feet behind the third row and an SUV-like place of 86.6 cubic feet behind second-row seats.
The seats in the middle row are thicker and more comfortable by changing on Magic Slide and can be folded up and down with the pull of a strap. The bad news? The seats don’t fold flat into the ground. The good access to the back row of seats as well as plenty of legs and head rooms make the third-row odyssey more than grown-up friendly.
The Odyssey’s spec sheet reads as a wish list pulled straight from a parenting blog. The Odyssey EX is available in six trim levels and offers compelling value with standard Honda Sensing safety equipment, optional leather, and optional navigation. CabinWatch and CabinTalk, our favorite features starting in 2018, are making a welcome return in the Touring and Elite Trims.
The Odyssey is still powered by Honda’s excellent 3.5-liter V-6, paired with a smooth switching-9 or 10-speed automatic transmission. All Odyssey minivans are EPA-rated in 19 mpg city, 28 highway, 22 combined, which is near the tops in its class. Honda’s second-generation Magic Slide seats are available in EX and above models, which feature four different seat configurations, including the possibility of removing seats that are not used to magnify the handle. The optional heated seats, the heated steering wheel, the loudspeaker, and an 11-speaker sound system complement the luxury and comfort features of the 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite Features.

Higher trim values like the elite are powered by a version of Honda’s 3.5-liter V6 with variable cylinder management – it can shut down three cylinders in low-charging situations – and a new 10-speed automatic transmission. The combination was good for nearly 26 mpg over about 1,000 miles of the ride, and I hit a maximum of 26.4 average after a few hundred miles of registry state highway time. I had engaged Econ mode for almost the entire trip, which has some compromises: Throttling is sluggish in trying to prevent Jackrabbit starts, and the results of the 10-speed holding higher gears and the engine turn on and off three-cylinder The operation can do some The and strange vibrations. If you don’t like the effects, just turn off the Econ mode and the odyssey responds with much smoother power, albeit with a compromise in the gas mile.
My final look back at the Odyssey (a model for 2018) criticized the design for missing stunnas-looking second-row seating, a-la Chrysler’s Stow Go. Honda representatives politely stated that their engineers opted for comfort over the collapse, a kind of sideways jab at the comfort of Pacifica in the second row and a reasonable compromise, except I have no problem with Chrysler’s seats. Honda’s are also convenient, but if you use your minivan like a pickup truck, you very often find that the seats in the second row of the Odyssey are removable but extremely heavy.

The rest of the Odyssey’s interior is functional and seems easy to clean – the very qualities you want in a minivan – but it’s hard not to compare with our long-term Pacifica hybrid, especially since the two within a few hundred dollars In MSRP. Where the Honda has an acre of dry, gray leather, the Chrysler has beautiful accent tubes and metal insoles in a stylish two-tone design. There’s no reason a minivan interior needs to feel sterile, and Chrysler’s efforts will hopefully spur Honda, Toyota, and Kia to add a needed style to their minivan interiors.
For many Honda loyalists, the trade-off at Honda’s prime reputation compensates for any lack of luxury, and they will enjoy the functional updates and well-known design tips throughout the 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite Features. But it still can’t take Pacifica’s place as my favorite minivan on the market today.
